Our Business Support Group is looking for a Governance Support Officer to assist in maintaining the efficient running of Local Governance.
This is a full-time role.In this position, you will ensure timely and accurate preparation of agendas and minutes for Council and Council Committee meetings.
This role requires clear and concise communication to be delivered to meeting attendees and staff, along with experience in coordinating governance meetings.Key responsibilities:Minute takingScheduling and administrative preparation of meetingsArranging and providing logistical services for meetingsMonitoring and disseminating correspondenceManaging diaries and appointment makingCommunicating changes to meetings or documentsCoordinating governance servicesProviding elections supportEnsuring statutory obligations are fulfilledAbout you:For this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role and/or 5 years' experience in administrative support.
It is advantageous to have local knowledge and an understanding of Tikanga Maori.Ideally, you will have:Knowledge of meeting protocols and standing ordersKnowledge of Local Government Act 2002General Local Government knowledge of processesExcellent grammar, written, and verbal skillsAbility to maintain high levels of confidentialityHigh level of computer literacy using Microsoft OfficeApplications close Friday, 31 January 2026 at 4.00pm.Please note: Applications will be processed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early, as we appoint as we go.
