Role Summary
The Attorney Interne will function as a representative of the Commissioner of the Department of Social Services/Department of Homeless Services, working to discontinue temporary housing assistance for clients who fail to comply with public assistance requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Representing the Commissioner in NYS Fair Hearings and NYS Court proceedings.
Providing legal counsel and review of negotiated settlements and compliance with administrative and court decisions.
Performing legal research and drafting legal documents to resolve legal questions/problems.
Work Environment
