The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is currently seeking a Grant Accountant (Senior Financial Specialist). This position will prepare financial documents and invoices for submission to grantors, monitor grant budgets and expenditures, and work closely with program managers and accounting staff to provide financial support and to ensure compliance with grantor guidelines. The Grant Accountant will work in our Administrative Bureau from our Headquarters office, situated adjacent to the Boise Greenbelt, the MK Nature Center, and the Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park in Boise.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and revenue
• Prepare invoices and file all required financial reports
• Ensure project costs comply with applicable accounting procedures, contract/grant terms and conditions, and applicable regulations
• Develop grant-related training for departmental personnel
• Provide oversight, support, and assistance to program managers and financial staff
• Collaborate with auditors and provide grant documentation and process walkthroughs
• Reconciliation of project accounts, grant ledgers and accounts receivable
• Communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders
• Seek continual improvement in grant administration processes, working to streamline grant process steps internally and externally
• Attend training events, meetings, educational workshops, and conferences that improve professional skills and knowledge
• Ad hoc duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (These qualifications are required.)
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices. (Typically gained by at least four years of professional work experience as an accountant, or equivalent, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) OR successful completion of an associate degree in accounting AND at least two years of professional work experience as an accountant or equivalent.)
• Experience developing and preparing financial documents. (Typically gained by at least one year of full-time work experience.)
• Experience using a personal computer to develop, analyze, and report on financial data. (Typically gained by at least one year of full-time work experience using a personal computer to develop, analyze and report on financial data as a regularly assigned job duty.)
• Experience analyzing financial activities and recommending management action. (Typically gained by at least one year of full-time experience preparing routine and specialty analysis and recommending management action.)

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in financial grant management including reviewing grant expenditures and revenue, submitting invoices and draw downs, monitoring grant budgets, submitting financial reports to grantors, and ensuring project costs comply with 2 CFR Part 200 and any grant specific terms and conditions. Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who have relatable training and/or experience in these areas.
