Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Grant Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of grant processes, including proposal development, compliance management, and contract oversight. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in procurement, vendor management, legal drafting, and research, with a focus on securing funding opportunities and ensuring adherence to federal regulations. The Grant Specialist will play a critical role in supporting organizational growth through effective grant management and business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and write compelling grant proposals aligned with organizational goals and funding priorities.
Manage all aspects of grant documentation, including contract review, negotiation, and compliance documentation.
Oversee procurement activities related to grants, ensuring vendor management and purchasing processes adhere to organizational policies.
Maintain accurate records of grants, contracts, amendments, and related documentation using document management systems.
Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations, UCC law, and other relevant legal standards such as intellectual property law.
Coordinate with internal teams on strategic planning, change management, and business development efforts related to grant opportunities.
Review contracts and agreements for legal soundness; negotiate terms with vendors or partners as needed.
Utilize ERP systems such as Salesforce, PeopleSoft, or DocuSign for proposal submission, contract signing, and record keeping.
Conduct research on potential funding sources; stay informed about updates in federal regulations affecting grants.
Support the organization’s efforts in proposal writing, pricing strategies, and technical writing to enhance funding success rates.
Requirements
Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, contract negotiation, and contract management.
Strong understanding of compliance management, federal acquisition regulations, UCC law, and intellectual property law.
Proficiency with document review processes and records management systems.
Skilled in negotiation tactics and legal drafting related to contracts and grants.
Experience with Salesforce, ERP systems like PeopleSoft or DocuSign for managing proposals and contracts.
Excellent research skills combined with strategic planning capabilities for business development initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for proposal writing, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Administration or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
