About the role
KidsXpress is a children’s mental health charity helping to transform the lives of children impacted by adversity. We deliver trauma-informed Expressive Therapy to children under 12, alongside Education Services for parents, teachers and professionals who care for them.
KidsXpress is experiencing an exciting growth phase and is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to lead our fundraising function and drive sustainable income growth.
This is a pivotal leadership role in an organisation that has creativity and impact at its core. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategy while also being “on the tools” — rolling up your sleeves to deliver campaigns, steward relationships, and secure income across multiple streams. You’ll also lead and mentor a small team to ensure fundraising goals are met and exceeded.
We know flexibility matters — that’s why this role can be worked 4 or 5 days per week with a hybrid mix of office (Macquarie Park) and remote working.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of a diversified fundraising strategy.
Drive growth across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, events, grants, digital and community fundraising.
Cultivate and steward strong relationships with donors, corporates, trusts, and foundations.
Personally manage and deliver high-value opportunities, including major donors and signature events.
Lead, support and develop a small fundraising team, ensuring clear goals and strong performance.
Work closely with the CEO and Board to secure transformational gifts and partnerships.
About You
We’re seeking an experienced fundraising leader who is equally comfortable shaping strategy and getting hands-on in delivery. You’ll bring:
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies across multiple streams.
Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to secure significant income from philanthropy and partnerships.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality events, campaigns, and donor experiences.
Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a small, high-performing team.
A collaborative and innovative mindset, with a passion for making a difference in children’s mental health.
Why Join Us?
As a member of the KidsXpress team, you’ll receive competitive remuneration, generous leave entitlements, support for professional development, and access to salary packaging (if eligible). You’ll also be part of a vibrant, playful and creative workplace surrounded by diversely skilled and experienced professionals.
If this opportunity excites you, please email your CV together with a short video introduction (2–3 minutes) to HR@kidsxpress.org.au by COB Friday 26 September.
(If for any reason you’re unable to provide a video, a covering letter addressing the criteria will be accepted).
For questions about the role, please contact Kirsty Walker at HR@kidsxpress.org.au.
