Our growing business changes by the day, and we need someone who is on the front foot and in touch with the operational side of things to ensure we reflect and respond quickly and efficiently.

In our team we like people who think outside the box and have a thirst to learn more, as well as being technically attuned you will need to be able to be able to consider the commercial impacts of any financial decisions, particularly in relation to cashflow and working capital. An analytical mindset will be key and we also need a confident communicator who is able to simply articulate the impact and reasoning of accounting treatments to the most senior non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the year and external audit process and half year external review process: monitoring and driving progress internally and project managing end to end, ensuring clear communication with all key stakeholders. Preparation and presentation of key Audit Committee papers

Leadership of our treasury function, ensuring the right balance of risk in recommendations around liquidity, capital structure and capital allocation.

Research and form opinions on new accounting treatments/standards and disclosure requirements, including presenting the impact to senior management and being able to justify positions with advisors

Be a key player in one off projects and have the ability and leadership to run with these on your own, including working with areas of the business outside finance

Input into the monthly reporting process, taking ownership of specific areas of the overall balance sheet, cashflow and working capital cycle, as well as annual budgeting

Managing external relationships with our loan providers, banking partners and external auditors

Work closely alongside the legal and CoSec departments to ensure reporting requirements are met within required deadlines

Knowledge & Experience
Top tier practice qualified accountant with large listed company experience and a minimum of 5 years PQE

If still in practice must be at least Senior Manager level, or have qualified in practice and taken on one technical role in industry and now looking for your next challenge

Extensive IFRS experience with a sound technical accounting grounding – experience in multi-currency consolidations, share based payments, EPS, impairment analysis and business combinations

An exceptional project manager, meticulous in organisation of your own workload but also able to manage and develop others

Previous experience in researching and implementing new accounting or reporting standards

Experience in reviewing financial information and able to review from both a technical and analytical standpoint. Looking for errors in accounting treatment and anomalies which don’t stack up.

Strong people management skills, with a proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams across multiple disciplines

Ability to roll your sleeves up and get on with tasks on your own when required, as well as being able to effectively work as part of a team and deliver through others.

Ambitious, driven and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Looking for someone who will put their hand up to be involved with team projects and is always keen to try new things.

Flexible to travel as required to our Paris and Edinburgh offices (infrequent)
