Job Description
Our program assistants work together with our team to provide support for patients and physicians to navigate the complex logistics of receiving high-cost treatments. Our assistants interact with patients to help cater our support program to their needs and help organize applications for drug coverage. Roles and Responsibilities:
Greet patients over the phone and outline the patient’s journey through our program.
Collect background information for each patient and identify barriers for treatment
Complete special authority, prior authorization, and enrollment forms for patients
Coordinate with insurance and patient support programs to help patient explore all avenues to reduce the costs associated with their treatment
Diligently maintain reliable record-keeping to help communicate updates to the patient and their healthcare team
Coordinate scheduling for medication administration and timely delivery of medication
Be proactive about coverage renewals and working around updates to insurance policies
Act as an ongoing point of contact for patients to call if they have questions or concerns
General administrative functions including emailing, faxing, and filing.
Contribute to the constant improvement of the program process
Maintain confidentiality of the patient’s personal information and program services.
Establish positive rapport with patients, physicians, and other members of their healthcare team by instilling confidence, comfort, and dependability
Demonstrate adaptability in being asked to complete various other tasks as required.
Educational, Experience, and Knowledge Requirements:
High school diploma is required. Post secondary education in relevant fields such as communication, business administration, management, or healthcare is an asset.
Experience in any of the following departments would be an asset: customer service, insurance, pharmaceuticals, medical office assistant, business administration
Proficiency in various computer programs such as Google Chrome, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Typing proficiency of at least 50 WPM.
Fluency in English is required. Multilingualism is an asset
Excellence in any of the following skill-sets would be an asset: Customer service, Communication (verbal [phone] and written [emails and memos]), Organization, Critical thinking, Adaptability, Collaboration, Ability to work independently
Knowledge or experience in any of the following would be an asset: Public and private reimbursement processes, Pharmacare special authority process, Pharmaceutical distribution, Electronic medical records

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
