Job Advertisement: Healthcare Assistant
Location: Auckland
Hours Full time – 30 Hours per week
Salary: $25 to $31.61 Per hour
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to our service users. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a real difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities: Under the direction and delegation of a general practitioner or registered nurse, the health care assistant will: -
support or assist general practitioner and nurse in various procedures.
monitor patient’s health and report to nurse or doctor as directed.
perform a range of patient care activities as requested, housekeeping and administrative duties across the practice, with the goal of maintaining a clean and organized environment (infection control).
do stocking rooms, autoclaving, checking lab tests and supplies, as well as administrative and reception duties.
co-ordinate a range of practice services and play a major role in prioritising workflows and juggling patient expectations.
Essential Skills
Experience or a qualification within a health care setting (ideally Primary care, but other comparable or adjacent industry experience will be considered).
Experience with general practice PMS (Medtech32, Medtech evolution, My Practice etc.) is an advantage.
Exceptional face to face customer service skills and phone manner.
Ability to work collaboratively and prioritise workload within a busy environment.
Solid IT understanding with experience working in and improving on a range of systems.
A passion for diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent) or 1 years’ experience
Previous experience in a healthcare or care assistant role is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
