Job Description
Northbridge Lifecare Trust is seeking a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant to join our team, working 4-5 night shifts per week (11:00pm - 7:00am). This is a hands-on role supporting residents with both care and household duties to ensure a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment.

About the Role
This is a varied, active role combining resident care with housekeeping and support duties. You’ll play a key part in ensuring residents receive high-quality care overnight while maintaining a clean, safe and well-run environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting residents with activities of daily living including personal care, mobility, hygiene and comfort
Maintaining residents’ dignity, privacy and independence at all times
Assisting with cleaning, laundry and general household duties across resident and shared areas
Monitoring resident wellbeing and reporting concerns to the Registered Nurse or senior team
Maintaining accurate documentation and following care plans and protocols
Ensuring a safe environment by following health & safety and infection control procedures
This role works closely with Registered Nurses and the wider care team to deliver consistent, high-quality support .
About You
You’ll bring a caring nature, strong work ethic and the ability to work confidently overnight.
We’re looking for someone who has:
Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in aged care, hospital or similar environment
A genuine passion for supporting older people
Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and a respectful, professional approach
Good physical fitness and the ability to manage a hands-on role
Knowledge of health & safety and infection control practices
Preferred but not essential:
NZQA Health & Wellbeing Level 3 (or willingness to work towards it)
Current First Aid Certificate
