Position Summary
As a legal associate specializing in renewable energy at CIR, you will play a pivotal role in the company's operations. The responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing essential legal support for strategic transactions. By staying abreast of industry developments and leveraging your expertise, you will help drive the company's success in the renewable energy sector.
Core Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts for complex commercial transactions, with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Standardizing EPC, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and various other agreements, and prepare toolkits for business, using captured learnings from negotiations with clients, and basis inputs from business and management.
- Provide legal & compliance support in strategic transactions.
- Research on compliance and regulatory framework pertaining to solar industry across US.
- Provide cross functional support – business partnering with HR, finance, administrative, procurement, logistics and business development teams for resolving all contractual and legal issues faced in day-to-day operations.
- Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance issues relevant to the renewable energy industry for employees across the organization. Promote a culture of compliance and ethics within the company.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements applicable to the company, including drafting corporate policies, preparing board resolutions, and maintaining corporate records.
- Stay abreast of developments in renewable energy law, technology, and industry best practices through ongoing education and professional development activities. Seek opportunities to enhance expertise and contribute to the company's success in the renewable energy sector.
Education Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent) is essential.
- Additional qualifications or specialized knowledge related to renewable energy law and policy would be beneficial for excelling in this role.
Technical Skills and Experience
Software Proficiency:
- MS Office
Project Management:
- Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation
- Ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders
Renewable Energy Systems:
- Understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure
Experience
5+ years of experience in Design/ Electrical engineering, with a focus on solar energy projects.
Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Management experience a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.
- Technical understanding of clean energy business processes
- Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
