Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced History Educator to join our team at Uncommon Schools. This role will involve teaching a curriculum that prioritizes analysis of World, US History, American Government, and Economics in preparation for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework.
Responsibilities
• Instruction: Teach a rigorous and engaging history curriculum to high school students, emphasizing textual analysis, analytical writing, and discourse.
• Data Analysis: Analyze student work samples and assessments to identify trends and areas for improvement, informing instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• School Culture: Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
• A commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools and investment in our vision for being an anti-racist organization
• Demonstrated expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, or related fields
• Prior experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years preferred)
Compensation and Benefits
The starting compensation for this role is estimated to be between $56,000 to $77,000, depending on relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
