Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust is seeking a Hotel & Hospitality Manager, who can manage the hotel and accommodation operation and any associated visitor facilities of Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve.


Temporary, Full-time role available till 30 April 2027
Located at Jenolan Caves, 3 hours from Sydney and 25 minutes from Oberon
Package includes base salary starting from $125,6+3.00, plus employer's contribution to superannuation

About the role


As the Hospitality Manager, you will be part of a team that will build a hotel and hospitality offering from the ground up over the first 12 months. You will also oversee the daily operations as we build for the future. Included in this will be introducing booking systems, implementing staffing levels, best practices, menu development and product offerings as if this was a new start up business.

Year 2 will see you manage the hotel and accommodation operation and any associated visitor facilities of Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve in an environmentally, socially and commercially sustainable manner ensuring the application of best practice Hotel Management approaches and standards.


About you

To be successful in this role you will have:


Tertiary Qualifications and/or significant experience in management of a Tourism based enterprise associated with Protected Area Management.
Experience in managing staff, policy and procedure in FoodSafe and NSW Responsible Service of ******* legislation and regulations.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with maintenance, marketing and yield management associated with a Tourism based Operation.
Show ability to be innovative, deliver required outcomes and KPI’s
Show willingness to work as part of a lager team and implement change with staff.
Exceptional financial acumen, and reporting.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build, impactful relationships across departments, with staff and stakeholders.

An inspirational leader managing teams, building culture and developing talent pipelines.

The Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust’s mission is to connect its visitors with the unique natural & cultural heritage of Jenolan caves, and through that connection stimulate the urge to care for and protect all such special places. Put simply: our mission is to protect and connect.

The Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust is responsible for the care, control & management of the Jenolan Visitor Use and Services Zone. This is regarded as being both environmentally and culturally significant. The Visitor Use and Services Zone includes, but is not restricted to, Caves House, retail areas, kitchen areas, front office, staff and guest accommodation, walking tracks, maintenance areas and the Caves System.

The Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust is currently closed to the public and the main Caves House is under construction for 12 months. During this period, we do have limited hotel and food offerings, so we are focusing on our “Road to Reopening” as if we are a new start up business. We are looking for someone to help drive us to relaunch in 2026
