The Chubb House Counsel position operates on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote), and based in our Alpharetta office.

Job Summary: Chubb is seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join our House Casualty team in Alpharetta, GA

As a member of Chubb's House Counsel office in Alpharetta, GA, this attorney will have the responsibility of handling casualty litigation before state and Federal Courts filed against Chubb's insureds. The individual will need to be capable of effectively handling cases involving various claims and issues, including premises liability, construction accident liability, motor vehicle liability, product liability, contractual indemnity, and medical damages. Specific duties will involve trials, conducting and defending depositions, engaging in pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, motion practice, researching, briefing and arguing appellate matters, negotiating settlements, and generating reports and evaluations on assigned cases.

Responsibilities:

Defend litigation cases before state and Federal Courts on behalf of Chubb's insureds. Handle a wide range of claims, including premises liability, construction accident liability, motor vehicle liability, product liability, contractual indemnity, and medical damages. Conduct and defend depositions, engage in pre-trial discovery, and draft pleadings. Engage in motion practice, including researching, briefing, and arguing appellate matters. Utilize negotiation skills to reach fair settlements. Generate reports and provide evaluations on assigned cases.

Qualifications and Skills:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia. Minimum of 7-10 years of litigation experience, with a focus on casualty cases preferred. Strong understanding of state and Federal Court rules and procedures. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong negotiation skills and ability to work towards fair settlements. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.
