Join Our Income Services Team – Make a Real Difference in People’s Lives

About the Service

We’re here to help tenants succeed in their homes. Our service encourages residents to pay their rent on time and reach out early if they’re facing difficulties. When challenges arise, we step in with the right support – and when needed, we use a range of recovery techniques to help sustain tenancies that might otherwise be at risk.

About the Role

We’re a busy, supportive team of housing professionals specialising in income management. We work across a variety of tenure types and housing-related debts, delivering a high-quality service that includes everything from early intervention to court attendance.

As an Income Officer, you’ll manage a group of tenancies and play a key role in helping residents meet their payment obligations while providing support to those experiencing financial difficulties. You’ll:

Proactively manage rent accounts and maintain detailed records of all communications
Negotiate realistic and sustainable payment plans to maximise income collection
Maximise benefit take-up
Minimise arrears and prevent debt escalation

You’ll get to know your customers, understand their individual circumstances, and promote a “rent first” culture – helping them prioritise rent payments and access the right support to sustain their tenancies.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making a difference and confident in managing income collection. You’ll need:

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Experience in income collection and debt recovery
A good understanding of housing legislation, court protocols, intervention tools and welfare benefits
Strong time management and organisational skills
Confidence using IT systems and software
The ability to work independently and as part of a team

If you’re proactive, empathetic, and ready to help people stay in their homes, we’d love to hear from you.

What can we offer you?

In addition to your salary, we offer a range of great benefits to help you financially and make life a bit easier.
These include:

a local government pension scheme with 18.1% employer contribution
salary sacrifice schemes
employee discount benefits including shopping, supermarkets, gym discounts and more!
travel loans
Health Assured – confidential help and support for your wellbeing
