Contract type: 2 x Permanent roles, 3 x FTC roles - one FTC role ending on 31/12/2025, and two 12 month FTCs.

Location: Office Base is Birmingham

Job Introduction

We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team in the diverse and innovative BBC HR Service Centre. We are passionate about working with colleagues to put world-class creative content on the air. Whether it’s Strictly Come Dancing, the Radio One Breakfast Show or the latest must-watch boxset on BBC iPlayer, you will play a big part in helping the BBC to inform, educate and entertain our audiences.

Every day, we provide HR services to over 20,000 colleagues and freelancers. We’re looking for a candidate who enjoys helping others in a thoughtful and caring way, take the initiative to ask questions, to understand what colleagues need, enjoy working in a fast-paced, energetic team and like to make a difference; spotting ideas for improvement and being creative on a daily basis.

Main Responsibilities

This is a business support role which is part of a team providing transactional and administrative services to the rest of the BBC. HR Administrators will be part of a shared service entity that will provide overall BBC People support to the BBC workforce.
• To provide HR administrative service to employees, following clearly defined processes, in line with defined SLAs
• Ability to use People systems, entering data into relevant systems with high attention to detail
• To ensure that administrative processes are undertaken in line with policy e.g. right to work
• To provide accurate and timely transactional responses and communication with the BBC workforce, responding to queries and requests as appropriate
• To accurately maintain People-related data and personnel files, ensuring confidentiality
• To provide answers confidently based on data and understanding of policy and process
• To open any relevant (physical) correspondence and scan/record relevant materials
• To prepare and send any (physical) correspondence required to complete processes in an accurate and timely fashion To work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver good service
• To produce MI reports and data from relevant systems in order to answer queries

Are you the right candidate

Essential skills are:
• Good IT and excellent communication skills
• Prior experience of working in an HR shared service/HR administration or very similar environment
• Ability to transact high volumes of queries
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when entering data; ensuring facts are correct, complete and consistent
• Proven and effective administrative skills
• Uses standard procedures and initiative to solve problems
• Understands how to handle, resolve and escalate enquiries; passes on information promptly
• Understands how to work effectively in a team to deliver
• Prioritisation skills, the ability to work on own initiative

Desirable
• Prior experience of working with People systems (such as SAP)
