Role Purpose:
Role provides support across the broad spectrum of HR activity, to support efficient and effective Human Resource operations.
Main opportunities/challenges for this role:
The role is expected to contribute to the successful HR operations in India. The role will actively contribute to the stakeholder management and expected to have quality of service provision, accuracy and timeliness of work.
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
Applies HR generalist knowledge to work on different HR operational areas. Develops good working relationships with appropriate colleagues throughout the British Council to facilitate the effective provision of high quality and customer-focused services and advice. Provide advise in line with British Council HR policies and processes. Uses detailed understanding of HR processes and systems to prepare reports and other materials using standard and non-standard formats and software. Induction of newly appointed staff and provide support to managers with the exit process and performance management in India. Support the HR Team in implementation of HR initiatives and activities in the India. Provide support to staff in India in terms of HR counselling and policy advise. Support payroll team on payroll related information and activities. Prepare and manage documentation for HR.
Role specific knowledge and experience:
Relevant professional HR qualification / relevant experience. Track record of building effective relationships with business leadership teams and managing a range of internal stakeholders in the delivery of high quality and effective professional HR services. Strong HR generalist experience, well versed in all areas of HR from talent and performance management, HR data management. Working knowledge of employment and labour law in country where the post is. Good experience in handling complex HR matters
