Job Description
We are looking for an HR Head for a philanthropic tech organization established in 2003 that partners with governments and market actors to leverage the transformative power of technology for a better quality of life for citizens. Their work enables accessible, efficient & transparent public service delivery in areas like sanitation, health, urban, and public finance management. It focuses on improving governance in India and other developing countries using a suite of open-source software platforms that contribute to digital public infrastructure aimed at improving working for each stakeholder.
This role is aimed at creating and leading high-impact people practice system that drives organization culture of taking charge and creating large-scale societal change. The organization’s mission has attracted highly passionate, bright, and high-performing change makers (technologists, strategists, and policy professionals) from diverse backgrounds and this role will be responsible for building a sustainable people practice system and culture to bring them all together.
CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Collaborate with the leadership team to understand the organization goals and strategy and translate it to people systems strategy. Liaise with different leaders to understand their HR needs and ensure they are informed on the resolution of these requirements and other aspects of HR Policies.
• Drive recruitment & induction and attract, engage, and retain high-performing talent for the organization.
• Drive organization development through different initiatives such as Talent Management and leadership development strategies (such as assessment, upskilling, executive coaching/mentoring, and critical work experiences) for building strong next-line leaders.
• Implement a Rewards and Recognition program and develop internal career paths for employees.
• Lead the organization's people and cultural transformation which impacts the present workforce positively and builds a strong employer brand.
• Implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance, strategy needs, and diversity goals (including workforce management, employee grievance, performance management, vendor management, training and development, culture, and quality management issues).
• Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; productivity, recognition, and morale.
• Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Governance:
Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to identify and implement changes in policy, practice, and resources.
• Build HR system dashboards and metrics for setting departmental performance standards.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Lead and build an effective HR function that can partner with the business and help in achieving organization goals
• 2 member HR team will report to the role
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
Approximately 10-20 years of robust experience in which at least 7-+ years should be in a leadership role for HR Function.
• Full-time MBA (Business or HR Management specialization), preferably an MBA with a prior degree in Engineering
• Hands-on exposure to leading Human Resource function in a fast-paced start-up.
