HR Systems Specialist - HCM Implementation & Transition

💰 $6,720 - $10,752 (Est.) 📍 Perth Airport

Job Description

Perth Airport is Australia’s Western Hub connecting the people, businesses and communities of Western Australia with the rest of Australia and the world. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year, Perth Airport plays a significant role in providing economic, social and cultural benefits to West Australians.

Perth Airport is investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure so we can support our airline partners to grow, offering more services to new destinations and an improved customer experience.

Over the coming decade we will expand T1 International, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience.

The Perth Airport estate is spread over 2100 hectares and has developed a $1.5 billion portfolio of existing industrial premises and significant vacant land holdings.

We service a truly diverse community and play an important role in strengthening cultural, family and social bonds while supporting business, tourism and leisure travel.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Systems Specialist - HCM Implementation & Transition to join us on a 2 year fixed term contract, to support the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of our HR technology environment. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented HRIS professional who enjoys working across system implementation, testing, BAU support and process improvement, partnering closely with People & Culture, Technology, Payroll and external vendors.

You will play a key role in supporting our HCM program and broader HR systems landscape. You’ll help ensure systems are reliable, compliant and user‑friendly, while supporting a smooth transition from legacy platforms to new solutions. This is a hands‑on role combining implementation support, testing, data validation, documentation and first‑line HRIS support, with a strong focus on governance, audit readiness and sustainable BAU processes. Your key responsibilities will be but are not limited to the following:

Support functional design, configuration and business integration activities for the HCM program, working closely with Technology
Prepare and execute test scripts, record evidence, and manage defect logging, retesting and closure
Deliver People & Culture‑owned cutover activities including data validation, user readiness, communications and sign‑off
Provide first‑line BAU HRIS support, resolving functional and configuration issues and escalating technical defects as required
Develop and maintain SOPs, quick reference guides, FAQs and system documentation for both legacy and new HCM processes
Maintain governance artefacts including RAID logs, action and decision logs, privacy checks and audit trails
Cleanse, reconcile and validate HR and payroll data to ensure ongoing data integrity
Support change, adoption and enablement activities by providing clear system guidance and user resources
Identify opportunities for system and process improvements that streamline BAU operations
About You

You are a proactive HR systems professional who brings structure, clarity and strong attention to detail. You enjoy translating system complexity into clear guidance for end users and thrive in environments where collaboration and accountability matter.

You will bring:

Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
Hands‑on experience with HRIS/HCM platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, Dayforce or TechnologyOne
Experience supporting system implementations, testing cycles, data reconciliation and cutover activities
Strong technical writing skills, with experience producing SOPs, quick guides and FAQs
Solid understanding of core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, leave and separations
High level of proficiency in Excel and data handling (lookups, pivots, reconciliations, CSV files)
Confidence executing and evidencing testing activities and managing defects
Understanding of HR/payroll system integrations
Exposure to SQL/API concepts, IDAM/SSO or audit and privacy compliance frameworks (from a collaboration perspective rather than technical build) - Desirable
