About The Role
Are you looking to grow your career in Employee Relations and take on a role where no two days are the same? This is a fast-paced, hands-on opportunity for someone who thrives on new challenges and enjoys navigating complex workplace matters with confidence and care. You’ll bring a natural curiosity and strong investigative mindset, allowing you to manage sensitive and sometimes tricky situations with professionalism and balance. From coaching experienced leaders to supporting newly appointed managers, you’ll have the ability to translate complex ER matters into clear, practical guidance that leaders can confidently apply in their day-to-day roles.

You’ll be someone who combines attention to detail with a structured, solutions-focused approach, always guided by our values. Importantly, you’ll see the bigger picture, understanding how effective employee relations contributes to long-term organisational success and you’ll know how to bring stakeholders on that journey.

Along with sharing the MercyCare values you’ll have:
Qualifications in HR/ER, Employment Law or a relevant discipline
A strong foundation of experience in a HR generalist role, coaching managers on employment issues
A demonstrated ability to stay up to date with employment legislation and its ongoing changes, including interpretation of industrial instruments and employment contract management
Ability to build strong professional relationships and use influence positively
Demonstrated resilience and ability to maintain performance under pressure – you’ll be someone who thrives when things are busy
Excellent research, analytical, reasoning, decision making and negotiation skills
Experience in a complex organisation, in the non-for-profit/health or community sectors would be an advantage as would experience liaising with unions
Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, online HRIS systems and platforms and using data to drive outcomes
Driver’s License – travel throughout Perth Metro is required
Satisfactory National Police Clearance (issued within the last six months)
