About the Opportunity
Essence Group is looking for a full-time Human Resources Assistant based in Sydney, NSW.
This role will require you to be the sole HR Officer, responsible for upholding our existing HR policies and practices. You will also ensure compliance with requirements such as SMETA and manage external audits.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administering and maintaining employee records and HRIS system
Ability to independently manage and maintain established HR policies and practices
Play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and handling external audits
Supporting the performance review process to enhance employee development
Participating in talent mapping and developing training plans
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand hiring objectives
Advising and supporting hiring managers throughout the employee lifecycle
Contributing to HR training and cross-department projects as required
Adapting quickly to changing business needs and prioritising workload
Ensuring compliance with HR and legal frameworks
While not mandatory, the ability to maintain and organise team-building activities and social events would be a valuable asset in fostering a positive workplace culture.
About You
To qualify, you will need experience in HR management and benefits administration, proficiency with HRIS systems, and experience in a similar role. Your ability to maintain confidentiality, along with strong organisational skills and excellent communication abilities, are essential for success in this role.

Effective organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
