CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To support the human resources function for district employees.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
Assists with human resources functions such as recruitment and employment, creating and maintaining personnel and staffing reports, and processing abandonment letters, resignations and rehires.
Performs clerical duties including monitoring Personnel Action Requests, creating reports, charts and tables and maintaining personnel files.
Ensures that employees submit relevant transcripts regarding professional growth, relevant requests for approval of courses and enters certified and classified evaluations on the computer system.
Prepares certification/licensure notices and responds to inquiries and questions about certification/licensure requirements.
Sets up and maintains computer spreadsheets and files. Types complex and technical material including charts and tables.
Monitors NCLB requirements for proper documentation for certified and classified.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of hiring processes, recruiting techniques and employment law.
Knowledge of office procedures and filing techniques.
Knowledge of preparing written reports and charts.
Knowledge of creating written communication.
Knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and software applications.
Skill in operating office equipment and computers.
Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
Skill in creating written reports and charts.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S., B.A. or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Human Resources, Business or related field - Preferred
High school diploma and two (2) years office experience specifically associated with Human Resources OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bilingual (Spanish & English) - Preferred
