Position description
The HR Intern role is focused on supporting a team of HR professionals on key administrative and co-ordination tasks that support the effective delivery of HR Services for Export Finance Australia (190 employees). The role will have exposure across various employee lifecycle stages including recruitment, onboarding & offboarding, learning & development, reporting, and wellbeing programs.
This role will also provide coverage for Reception duties during a portion of the internship.
Recruitment
Assistance with candidate management – inbox queries, managing unsuccessful applications, interview bookings, filing, template updating etc
Opportunity to screen candidate applications and conduct references
Employee Life Cycle
Assist with the on-boarding process for new employees including issuing contracts and new starter packs, background checks, and co-ordinating the induction program
Exposure to employee life cycle processes, with the opportunity to work on templates and procedures
HR Programs & Projects
Support HR activities aligned to HR programs such as health & wellbeing, the performance management process, and employee assistance program (EAP)
Assist in the administration of learning and development programs where required
As part of a small HR team with a hands on approach, support ongoing HR projects and initiatives as allocated on an ad-hoc basis, in line with individual capacity and collaboration
HR Systems, Processes & Reporting
Gain exposure to system and program providers such as performance management system, EAP, and background check service provider
Assist with the administration of HR budgeting, processing HR invoices and liaising with the finance team
Reception
Greeting external and internal guests and taking to meeting rooms.

Co-ordination of catering
Co-ordination of office supplies
About you
Be working towards a Bachelors qualification in Human Resources, or equivalent
An interest in Financial Services/Banking
A systematic approach to work – organised with the ability to own tasks and take full accountability for work, follow up on tasks
Strong attention to detail
Good communication (both verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn new computer systems quickly
Working knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
