What we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate must have experience working in a hospitality industry. You must be a well-rounded, skilled, and experienced Human Resources Professional who will cultivate and inspire associates to grow their potential by providing leadership, the tools, and resources for their success as well as the opportunities needed to grow as individuals and excel in their hospitality careers. This position will report to the General Manager.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager plays a key leadership role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture throughout the hotel. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll accuracy, and compliance. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture, improving team morale, and developing creative staff engagement initiatives that align with the hotel’s values and service standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hospitality HR, strong time management and organizational skills, a deep understanding of payroll and benefits administration, and a proven ability to build relationships and drive employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
Oversee and maintain employee time management systems, including attendance tracking, scheduling, and leave requests.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, documentation, and personnel files in accordance with company and legal requirements.
Ensure compliance with all employment laws and hotel HR standards.
Serve as the primary HR leader for the property, overseeing all day-to-day human resources functions and providing strategic support to hotel leadership.
Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and 401(k), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and effective communication with team members.
Maintain detailed and organized employee records and HR documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts to attract, hire, and retain top talent aligned with the hotel’s service culture and brand standards.
Partner with department heads to coach, support, and guide leaders in employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Promote and sustain a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement, morale, and recognition programs that align with the hotel’s mission and values.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that foster a respectful and collaborative work environment.
Ensure all HR and payroll-related audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements are met.
Act as a cultural ambassador, building strong, trusting relationships across all levels of the organization.
Manage conflict resolution with professionalism and confidentiality, supporting fair and consistent application of company policies.
Lead internal communications related to HR policies, employee events, and training initiatives.
Lead initiatives that improve employee morale, retention, and organizational culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent hospitality experience).
Minimum 3 years of HR management experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and employment law.
Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills with a high attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and respect.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar).
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
