Borealis Basecamp is a northern lights-focused adventure resort in Fairbanks, AK. We provide a unique experience with sky-view igloos for viewing the aurora from the comfort of your bed.

We provide extensive on-site activities, including snow machine tours, dog sledding, reindeer adventures, and helicopter tours. In addition to hotel guests, we offer day tours from Fairbanks through our Basecamp Adventures brand.

Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and approachable Human Resources Manager to provide guidance, support, and oversight across all HR functions. This role combines employee relations, compliance, training, hiring, and terminations with operational housing support in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Fairbanks, AK / Himalaya Road, Fairbanks North Star Borough

Reports to: General ManagerSeasonal: this position will be seasonal, starting August 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and support to staff and managers on company policies, procedures, and expectations.
Support employee relations by reviewing incident reports, investigating concerns, and helping resolve workplace or housing conflicts in a fair and professional manner.
Support core HR processes in ADP Workforce Now, including onboarding, employee records, status changes, and off-boarding. Oversee staff housing by supervising the RA, ensuring housing assignments, inspections, cleanliness, quiet hours, and guest policies are maintained.
Coach and support managers in providing development/training opportunities.
Maintain organized HR records, including employee files, training documentation, and housing records.
Partner with operational leadership to support staffing needs and ensure a positive employee experience in a remote environment.
Qualifications:

5+ years of HR experience, preferably in hospitality, seasonal, or remote operations.
Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (preferred).
Strong skills in employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and policy guidance.
Experience managing or supporting staff housing or remote workforce housing (preferred).
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal setting.
Requirements:

Professional, approachable, and supportive leadership style.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions, including uneven terrain and extreme weather.
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance guidance with accountability.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Experience facilitating performance reviews, corrective action plans, and employee coaching.
Support Admin Assistant with HR audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
