Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking and driven Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner—with at least five years of progressive experience—ready to step confidently into a managerial role, or an emerging HR Manager eager to take the next step in a dynamic and strategic environment.

Based out of Galore Creek’s Vancouver office, the HR Manager will report to the General Manager, GCMC, and play a central role in leading and delivering human resources services across the organization. This includes navigating the complexities of a Joint Venture (JV) structure, aligning HR practices with operational needs, fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture, promoting inclusive hiring and retention strategies, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with JV Partners.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!

Overview

Located in Tahltan Territory in northwestern British Columbia, Galore Creek is one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold-silver deposits. Galore Creek Mining Corporation (GCMC), a partnership between Newmont Corporation (Newmont) and Teck Resources Limited (Teck), is committed to advancing the asset towards a development decision with meaningful input from the Tahltan Nation and BC regulators. GCMC highly values its long-standing relationship with the Tahltan Nation, and continues to implement the 2006 Participation Agreement, including involving the Tahltan Nation in regulatory processes and review of environmental performance, and providing preferential contracting and employment opportunities. Working closely with the Tahltan Nation and local communities, we strive for excellence in all our activities, with continuous improvement and responsible practices that contribute to sustainable development.

More information on the Project is available at www.gcmc.ca.

Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, supporting the execution of HR strategies aligned with business goals
Build and implement HR programs, policies, and procedures that reflect the needs of a Joint Venture structure while aligning with local legislation
Represent the company in HR matters with the Partners, maintaining collaboration, visibility, and alignment across shared HR objectives
Manage communication and coordination of HR decisions, practices, and changes across JV entities to support shared workforce goals
Coordinate quarterly JV HR Partner Working Group sessions to maintain strong alignment and support for all GCMC HR operations and strategies
Partner with operational teams and JV representatives on site-based and corporate HR issues, including workforce transitions, onboarding, performance, and culture initiatives

Lead or support projects, including organizational planning, diversity and inclusion, workforce strategy, and change initiatives
Build respectful working relationships within the Project team, the Partners, external Communities of Interest, including various levels of government and the Tahltan Nation, to add to the stability and functionality of GCMC’s reputation, management and governance practices

The above accountabilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive
