Indirect Tax Manager
Leeds / Hybrid - 3 days per week office based (LS15 8ZB)
The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for managing EMEA VAT compliance and supporting with advisory matters. This includes ensuring accurate VAT filings, identifying VAT risks and opportunities, and providing strategic guidance on VAT matters both domestically and internationally.
Own all indirect tax reporting requirements across EMEA
Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess the impact on business operations.
Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on VAT implications of business activities, transactions, and projects.
Manage VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities when necessary.
Maintain effective VAT controls and compliance procedures.
Support indirect tax planning initiatives to optimise VAT efficiency.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure proper VAT treatment.
Provide VAT training and support to finance and non-finance personnel.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and internal policies regarding VAT processes.
Skills and experience you'll bring:
Professional tax/accounting qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) is preferred.
Strong knowledge of VAT regulations in the relevant jurisdictions (e.g., UK, EU).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g. Oracle).
