Job Purpose
Lead the indirect tax function by deploying all relevant indirect tax laws effectively & provide inputs to management for tax efficient transaction structuring/re-structuring.
Independently handle indirect tax queries at various levels in the organization and handle tax litigations, communicate potential risks along with basic liaison with tax authorities and consultants.
Principal Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Indirect Tax Compliance
Evaluate and ensure compliance with indirect tax laws and regulations
Maintain appropriate records suitable for internal and external audit.
Handle the audit & assessment and ensure data readiness.
Reconciliation ITC GL with GST records & checking the necessary JV for utilization of ITC credit.
Prepare the reply along with supporting the details on show cause notices with the help of consultant & attend the hearing with department as and when required.
Preparation, Review and Controls
Conduct monthly review of indirect tax planning & ongoing tax assessments status.
Monthly data preparation and validation of HO expenses to other locations through cross charge billing.
Make the required SOP for controlling and monitoring the indirect tax compliances process roles & responsibilities.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to better leverage department resources.
Update changes in GST laws and assess their impact on the organization.
Identify annual tax saving / reduction targets by indirect tax category.
Stakeholder Management
Provide technical advice to internal stakeholders within the Company.
Keep the control on supplier and internal compliances to ensure there will not be any tax leakages.
Keep update on GSTR 2A reconciliation and require action on internal & external stakeholder.
Keep co-ordination with respective plant location to avoid the future lapses.
Keep coordination with consultant to get time to time updates.
Automation, Process improvement for Indirect tax compliances
Define the various documents process flows to avoid the further lapses.
Keep the control on implemented i.e., E-invoice, E-way Bill, Payment Block software etc.
Responsible for new GST registration as and when require.
Control and monitor the refund application with payment of duty or without payment of duty, inverted duty structure.
