About Us
THORE Underwriters, LLC is bringing core accounting operations in-house to improve efficiency and reduce outsourced costs. We are hiring a Senior Accountant who will take full ownership of daily accounting tasks and assist with monthly closes, allowing the CFO to focus on strategy.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a skilled accountant who enjoys hands-on work and wants exposure to insurance accounting. You will be responsible for daily transaction posting, reconciliations, and supporting the month-end process across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily cash postings and reconciliations across all bank accounts.
Process AP invoices, expense reports, and payroll entries accurately and on time.
Maintain QuickBooks Online (QBO), ensuring all transactions are current.
Prepare monthly journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany).
Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
Support budget preparation and ad-hoc reporting needs.
Collaborate with CFO and external CPA/Audit firms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–5 years of general accounting experience (insurance or MGA experience a plus).
Solid understanding of GAAP and reconciliation processes.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
