Background
We are looking to appoint an exceptional person to join the City St George’s Finance Team, based mainly on the Tooting Campus. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective financial management, performance and support for management in City St George’s, University of London (CSG) and to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity and control.
Responsibilities
The role has responsibility for periodic financial and management reporting, budgets, forecasts and financial plans on the Tooting campus and in the format required to support consolidated institutional financial reports. It will also ensure, alongside the Finance Director and other members of the Senior Finance Team, that staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities and will provide appropriate training, guidance, policies and procedures to fulfil those duties. A key part of the role will be supporting the finance integration plan post-merger – including the integration of key finance processes, policies, ways of working, budget management and reporting - and leading on the exercise to migrate the Tooting based finance team on the Oracle ERP.
Person Specification
Key attributes of the successful applicant include: · Educated to degree or equivalent standard · Fully qualified CCAB or equivalent accountant with significant post qualification experience · Leading a team within a finance function · Preparation of regular financial information for senior management including analysis and commentary · Financial performance improvement and working with non-finance staff to achieve it · Familiarity with the financial reporting, regulatory and tax environment for UK higher education
