INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTANT - 14 MONTH CONTRACT

JOB DUTIES:
We are looking for a self-starter that is organized, quick-minded, has a can-do attitude, enjoys working independently and with a team. You are someone that is capable of deciphering through problems and issues to present and find solutions, and has a passion for accounting. This role works alongside a team of three other in-house accounting professionals, and is full-time contract position for 14 months.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Full cycle bookkeeping
Month-end and year-end posting, closing accounting activities. Prepare books for year-end financial statements.
Prepare Monthly Financial Reports.
Reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
Prepare GST returns.
Assist with other year-end tasks and audit queries as required.
Provide coverage for AP during vacation or other time periods, if required.
Prepare ad-hoc accounting reports (i.e.: expense reports, insurance reports/costs etc.)
Maintain records and accounting files; verifies, allocates and posts detailed transactions to subsidiary accounts.
REQUIREMENTS:
3 years minimum of experience in intermediate accounting role.
Post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting or related field.
Construction and real estate development accounting experience is an asset.
Experience working with subsidiary accounts is an asset.
Intermediate skills in MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience using Jonas, Sage, and Yardi is considered an asset.
