Freight Brokers play a key role in the success of any business that involves shipping products by matching clients to reputable carriers and arranging the services. Other important Freight Broker job duties and responsibilities include:
1.Identifying and vetting prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers
2. Gathering information from clients to determine their shipping needs
3. Obtaining shipping quotes from carriers and passing them on to clients
4. Booking freight service through carriers for clients
5. Coordinating the pickup and drop off of shipments
6. Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged
Updating customer management software to keep client records accurate
7. Advising clients on potential supply chain issues.
