Our trusted client is seeking a dedicated Investment Accountant II to join their real estate team in Philadelphia. The Investment Accountant II will be responsible for managing investment-related general ledger entries, producing accurate financial reports, coordinating with outsourced providers, conducting detailed financial analysis, and optimizing financial processes.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Compensation: $80,000 – $+0,000/year
Schedule: +:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Investment Accountant II:
• General Ledger Entries: Record and reconcile general ledger entries for investment-related items, ensuring accuracy.
• Reporting: Produce monthly management reports and financial statements, and assist with board reporting.
• Coordination: Work with outsourced providers for statutory schedules and compliance.
• Analysis: Conduct investment income analysis and variance analysis.
• Process Optimization: Streamline and automate the monthly close process.
• Compliance: Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and statutory principles.
• Support: Assist auditors with documentation and provide disclosures for financial reporting.
• Improvement Initiatives: Lead department initiatives and recommend workflow improvements.
Qualifications for the Investment Accountant II:
• Certifications: CPA or working towards CPA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
• Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with investment accounting, GAAP, and fixed income instruments.
