Principal Front-End Engineer I

General Summary:

The Principal Front-End Engineer I is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high quality,

innovative, and fully performing front-end code for web applications. This role works in partnership with various

Engineering teams to ensure alignment of web design and user experience while prioritizing web optimization and

coding standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides support to cross-functional teams, with a high attention to detail
• Researches, analyzes, and documents findings
• May coach and review the work of other team members
• Designs, modifies, writes, and implements front-end code for software programming applications
• Oversees development projects from requirement documentation to delivery
• Defines project scope with stakeholder, creates acceptance criteria, coordinates with project manager,

and manages change control throughout the course of development projects
• Develops and maintains common controls library
• Evaluates codes to ensure validity, proper structure, alignment with industry standards, and compatibility

with operating systems
• Maintains an understanding of current technologies or programming practices through continuing

education, reading or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
• Ability to manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision
• Advanced knowledge of applicable work area
• Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology/processes as per business requirement
• Strong knowledge of UI/UX design
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented design
• Ability to manage competing priorities while producing high quality work
• Ability to interact positively and openly with colleagues and external business contacts, with strong verbal

and written communication skills
• Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to meet reasonable deadlines
• Strong knowledge of programming languages and software basics
• Strong knowledge of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes,

debuggers, and test frameworks

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent business experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with HTML/CSS templates and designs
• Experience with AJAX, CSS3, HTML5, React/Redux, Micro-Front End
• Experience with RESTful API
• Experience with GIT or GITHub

• Hybrid depending on locatio
