Key Responsibilities:
• Value Engineering & Cost Reduction:
• Lead VAVE initiatives to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in design, materials, and production.
• Analyze existing product designs and manufacturing processes for potential improvements in cost, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers, procurement, and R&D teams to explore alternative materials, technologies, and processes that reduce costs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure that VAVE activities align with business goals.
• Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to ensure that any changes meet their expectations and functional requirements.
• Product Design Optimization:
• Evaluate product designs for simplification and manufacturability improvements.
• Implement changes to improve product lifecycle, sustainability, and overall value proposition.
• Support product design iterations with detailed engineering analysis and testing.
• Project Management:
• Manage VAVE projects from concept to implementation, ensuring milestones, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Track and report cost savings and performance metrics for VAVE initiatives.
• Coordinate validation and testing of re-engineered products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses to assess the financial impact of potential changes.
• Generate and maintain reports on cost savings, return on investment (ROI), and project progress.
• Use data and metrics to drive decision-making and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
• Compliance & Quality:
• Ensure that all VAVE projects meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality benchmarks.
• Perform risk assessments and mitigation strategies for proposed changes.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that changes do not compromise product performance or safety.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in value engineering, cost reduction, or similar roles.
• Proven track record of successful VAVE projects in manufacturing or product development environments.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform complex cost-benefit analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo) and familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools (e.g., Windchill)
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier management.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Problem-solving, creativity, attention to detail, leadership, and communication.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Reduction in product cost through VAVE initiatives.
• Number of successful VAVE projects completed on time and within budget.
• Quality and performance improvements achieved without increased costs.
• Time taken to implement and validate product changes.
Working Conditions:
• Office and manufacturing plant environments.
• Occasional travel may be required to collaborate with suppliers and production facilities.
