About Trade And Transaction Reporting (T&TR) Team

The Trade and Transaction Reporting IT Team (T&TR) is an IT engineering organisation that supports and maintains a portfolio of shared services within MSS.

This role sits within the T&TR IT team who maintain and enhance a suite of java based services to facilitate trade reporting in a timely manner to our Regulators. The service is primarily built to enable the reporting of CIB trade information to external regulatory bodies. Jurisdiction scope is global and is segregated into 3 regions: Americas (CFTC, SEC, CSA), EMEA (FCA, ESMA, MIFID, SFTR, BOE, etc), APAC (HKMA, MAS, ASIC, JFSA, KRX) with project work dependent on business priorities such as the implementation of a new mandatory regulatory specification.

What are we doing?

With the ever-changing regulatory requirements, we must maintain and enhance the T&TR solution to meet the evolving requirements of the external regulatory bodies. This requires in-depth review of business requirements alongside third party Global Trade Repository specifications and our Regulator stipulations to ensure full compliance with the scope of what is reported, with accuracy of the content, the compliance with the message specification and the timeliness within which it is reported. The solutions built must align to our strategic architecture which is service based, this remains a long term goal as we continue to migrate reporting solutions from our legacy platform DSL to RRCP.

In this role, you will:
• Work with a team of engineers and collaborate with colleagues globally
• Responsible for the software development lifecycle of the changes you implement
• Remediation – working to tight deadlines to turn around small incremental fixes quickly and safely
• Maintain code base (defects, vulnerabilities, enhancements, etc)
• Assist Operations with remediation efforts through tooling and building upon existing capabilities
• Liaise with Asset Class IT teams to improve the quality of the input data and protect the T&TR solution from absorbing workarounds/complexity
• Working within a POD with a defined charter

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• 5+ years experience in java development
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Self-motivated person who is enthusiastic and has proven fast learning capability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and quick to adapt to changing requirements
• Proactive approach to identifying issues, presenting solutions and options
• Familiar with DevOps concepts and SRE
• Strong problem solving skills with a proven track record of delivery
• Continuous Integration / Build processes

What additional skills will be good to have?
• Kubernetes experience
• Environment, Change and Release Management background
• Software Configuration Management / Branching / Version Control
• Knowledge of Microservices based architecture and patterns.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts and cloud architecture, different types of cloud computing (preferably GCP).
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts & tools like GitHub/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.
• Experience using the following technologies: git, Jira
• Understanding of Google SRE practices and concepts
• Regulatory Reporting experience
• Investment Banking experience
