Job Description
Are you tired of working on job sites where you are a nameless, faceless cog in the machine?
Are you sick of doing the same tasks over and over and over and over?
Do you feel like you aren’t progressing in your craft?
You didn’t become an electrician to work in a massive company where you feel like a nobody.
You became an electrician to be a part of a tight-knit team and develop your skills!
Life is short. In no time, you realize ten years have passed, you feel like you don't know any of your co-workers, and you’ve had at least ten new bosses. Your growth and development are going nowhere.
This isn’t what you thought your career (and life) would look like.
We get it. You aren’t alone. A lot of our team felt the same way before joining Leading Edge.
It doesn’t have to be that way. You can build an amazing career and lifelong relationships, develop your craft, and make great money!
It’s time to take charge of your career! You deserve it!
We need Journeyperson Electricians to support our growth and lead our team members.
This is a unique opportunity to join a stable, growing, local company working on exciting commercial projects.
Your Performance Objectives – What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Chargehand Electrician, the Journeyperson Electrician is responsible for completing electrical installations and service calls while ensuring all on-site activities are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to schedule, budget, and scope.
This role supports the Chargehand Electrician as an active team member, striving to exceed customer expectations and align with Leading Edge Electric’s values, policies, and procedures. The Journeyperson Electrician leverages their expertise to deliver quality work and continuously seeks improvement opportunities.
In your first month, you will invest your time in learning the role:
Work side-by-side with the Chargehand, Journeyperson Electrician colleagues and Apprentice Team.

Learn the “Leading Edge Way” of delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Learn our systems and processes.
Lead and manage our safety culture with 100% compliance.
Map out your learning objectives for the year.
Within three months, you will gain a deeper understanding of foundational knowledge and leverage that knowledge to assist colleagues:
Continue to learn the “Leading Edge Way” of delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Deepen relationships with your co-workers.
Build relationships and develop the skills of your team.
Within six months, you will be an independent contributor leading your team with most aspects of your role:
Coach apprentices in the “Leading Edge Way” of delivering exceptional value to our clients.
Ensure sites are clean, organized and safe.
Assign tasks to apprentices, provide instruction, monitor progress, and inspect the quality of their work.
Confidently make decisions about the best course of action for our clients.
Within twelve months, you will “own” your role and increase your contribution to the organization:
Establish your “go-to” role as a Leading Edge leader, coaching apprentice electricians on and off-site.
Collaborate with the Chargehand Electrician and Operations Manager, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to Quarterly Town Hall Meetings.
