Job Title: Junior Accountant - Finance & Accounting Years of Experience: 2+ years GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: This is a Junior Accountant position in Loram India’s Finance and Accounting department. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Loram Rail Maintenance India Private Limited preparation, analysis, and reporting of daily finance / accounting / tax transactions to ensure statutory compliance. Assists the annual statutory audit and assists with preparation, analysis, review, and reporting of assigned general ledger account activity. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Accounting · Posting journal entries, updating financial statements on a periodic basis, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, paying monthly payroll, and preparing financial reports as per the guidance of the manager – accounts and finance · Preparation of reconciliation of bank statements, debtors / creditors balances, and other assigned accounts with the books. · Manages and assists with preparation and administration of daily accounting transactions, including bank activity, foreign exchange and intercompany. · Coordinates with other departments to obtain financial information. · Manages and assists with monthly and year-end closings including processing assigned accruals, analysis, and preparation and review of financial statements and reports. Income Tax · Preparation and filing TDS / TCS/Advance Tax returns/challans. · Prepares information for payment of Advance Income tax. GST · Compiles information to make monthly tax payments and available Input Tax credits. · Administers filing of GST returns. · Lead in responding to notices from GST department. Audit and Compliance · Manages and assists with interim and year-end audits related to areas of responsibility as required. · Management of all files as required for statutory compliances. · Provides support in handling the Import & Export documentation. BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: · Adaptability · Communication · Compliance Focus · Planning and Organizing REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: · Chartered Accountant (CA) – (Semi / part qualified) – preferred; and · Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent. · Master of Commerce (M.com) - Post-graduate / Masters. · Diploma or certificate for any accounting course is preferred. Experience: · 2+ years accounting related experience and/or training. · Corporate experience – Preferred India corporate interactions and working knowledge of local laws and accounting principles Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Reasonable written and oral communication skills to be able to work effectively with internal and external customers. · The applicant will have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute ratios and percentages. · Knowledge of computers and software with good word processing skills using Microsoft applications, tally and ability to any other software if needed. · Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. · Rail industry knowledge/manufacturing industry knowledge
