Position Overview
Zedcor is seeking a Junior Technology Specialist with a strong technical foundation and practical experience in IP camera systems, networking, cellular communications, or IT support. This position is ideal for professionals who have developed core skills in the field and are looking to take the next step in their technical career.
As part of our technology team, you’ll support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP cameras, network devices, and remote monitoring systems. You’ll work closely with senior team members and field personnel, taking ownership of routine tasks while continuing to build your technical knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IP-based security cameras and cellular modems
Troubleshoot camera connectivity issues, video quality problems, and device failures
Assist with remote access setup and video storage system management
Conduct firmware updates, apply system security settings, and maintain system up-time
Collaborate with senior staff to optimize surveillance system performance
Provide first-level remote technical support to internal and external users
Troubleshoot network, PoE, and device-level issues, escalating when necessary
Interpret circuit diagrams and apply electronics knowledge for field support
Document configurations, diagnostics, and issue resolutions
Work alongside experienced technicians to build advanced expertise
Participate in technical training and pursue vendor certifications (company-supported)
Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and eventually support junior team members
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, or related technical field
1–2 years of experience supporting networked devices or IP camera systems
Working knowledge of routers, switches, IP addressing, and basic diagnostics
Experience using tools such as multimeters or cable testers
Familiarity with remote device management
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cradlepoint routers or NetCloud Exchange
Understanding of VPNs, VLANs, and basic firewall rules
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
Familiarity with surveillance systems such as Dahua, Hikvision, Axis, or Avigilon
Exposure to cellular modems and remote monitoring technologies
Genetec Configuration Tool and Security Desk experience.
