Mo te turanga mahi | About the role
Tumatakokiri leads and provides strategic advice to embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strong Maori-Crown relationships into all aspects of the Ministry.
The Maori Strategy and Performance team sits within the Tumatakokiri business group and provides advice on strategic risk and system performance grounded in Te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti. This includes monitoring and reporting on Ministry Treaty settlement commitments while supporting statutory weighting and Maori relationship management in the context of the reform of the resource management system.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor to help lead the work programme and ensure alignment and integration across related functions.

Bring a te ao Maori perspective and understand how this applies in strategy design.
Practical understanding of the Maori Crown relationship context, Maori rights and interests and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Can demonstrate experience in system design together with monitoring and reporting tools to assist the Ministry to deliver on strategic kaupapa Maori outputs.
Designing and implementing practical solutions that enable improvements in planning and delivery performance including, but not limited to, monitoring and reporting on Treaty Settlement Commitments.
Ability to provide high quality written advice to decision makers which is strategy-led, evidence-informed and performance-driven.
Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $110,501 to $134,128 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
