A prestigious law firm, based in the heart of Melbourne, is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join their Commercial & Business Law team. The firm is renowned for its excellence in Commercial and Business Law, and the team is expanding as part of its strategic growth plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated lawyer looking to work with high-end clients in a boutique firm environment.
The Role
This role has emerged due to the firm’s rapidly increasing commercial law practice. You will have the opportunity to make this practice your own, as you assume responsibility for the Commercial Law side of the practice working a prestigious blue-chip client base. The firm’s client industries include manufacturing, telecommunications, IT, transport, professional services, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting and negotiating licensing and franchising agreements
Managing company and shareholder contracts/agreements
Handling IT and data service agreements
Structuring company trusts, family, and unit trusts, and unit holder agreements
Overseeing sales and purchases of businesses
Advising on company structuring, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions
What You’ll Bring:
Proven experience in Commercial Law gained with an Australian law firm
Strong ability to manage a diverse range of legal matters for high-end clients
A desire to work in a collaborative and professional team environment
Commercially astute with excellent client-facing skills
