About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Shop Foreman to lead and coordinate our manufacturing team. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between design, project management, and shop personnel, ensuring that production flows efficiently and that team members are productive, focused, and properly supported.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Keep all shop employees engaged with clear direction and task assignments.
Assign tasks based on individual strengths and capabilities.
Mentor and train team members on fabrication techniques and equipment operation when needed.
Communication & Coordination:
Act as the go-between for design and manufacturing, ensuring drawings and plans are understood and executed correctly.
Work closely with project managers to prioritize projects, communicate timelines, and flag any production concerns.
Shop Floor Management:
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
Track and manage priority projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Ensure all machines and tools are being used safely and effectively.
Quality Control & Assembly:
Take ownership of quality control, verifying accuracy, fit, and finish before parts move to the next stage.
Oversee or participate in final assembly, ensuring everything is built to spec and ready for delivery or installation.
Inventory & Supplies:
Track inventory levels for raw materials, fasteners, and consumables.
Proactively reorder or notify purchasing when stock is low to avoid downtime.
Technical Capability:
Operate and instruct others on manual mills, lathes, welders, drills, and other standard fabrication equipment.
Support complex or custom builds by jumping in as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years experience in a fabrication or equipment manufacturing environment, preferably involving conveyors or custom machinery.
Strong working knowledge of machining, welding, and general metal fabrication practices.
Proven leadership skills in a shop or trades environment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and fabrication prints.
Experience with quality control practices and final assembly workflows.
Self-motivated and highly organized, with a knack for multitasking and keeping teams on track.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
