Join Raytheon’s Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) team as we seek a Principal Engineer to take on the role of Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). You will play a key role in supporting a vital development program. This leadership position will involve driving essential execution practices for engineering development, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while achieving technical subsystem requirements. You will also foster strong relationships with customers and industry partners, efficiently coordinating efforts in a dynamic environment.
This important onsite role located in El Segundo, CA will require proactive collaboration and effective communication across the program and with customer stakeholders.
What You Will Do
• Ensure contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned programs are met within company expectations.
• Report business metrics including Estimates At Complete (EAC) to program and functional leadership.
• Provide technical leadership to design, develop, integrate, test, verify, qualify and deliver systems that meet performance requirements.
• Communicate program status, accomplishments, and issues with both Raytheon leadership and customer representatives.
• Contribute to the program leadership team in developing and aligning on common vision and execution strategies.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks while capturing opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support the program (approximately 20%).
Qualifications You Must Have
• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Program Management and/or IPT execution within the Defense Industry.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams including multiple disciplines such as Engineering, Contracts, Finance, and Quality Management.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Risk Management.
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is a prerequisite along with the ability to obtain special program access afterward.
Qualifications We Prefer
• Experience with RF or EOIR systems as a Senior Engineer, Deputy IPTL, or IPTL.
• Background in defense system development processes.
• Experience overseeing development across multiple program sites.
• Knowledge of Agile Development and Agile Lifecycle Management tools, especially Jira.
• Expertise in Supplier Management.
• Experience leading Software, Firmware, or Hardware Engineering Teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, and proposal creation skills.
• Certification in Raytheon EVMS and PM level 6 or higher.
• Active or transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance with access to special programs in Fire Control Radar scope.
