Job Description
The Lead Privacy Counsel will play a critical role in driving effective data privacy and protection initiatives to support best in class experiences, programs and products in alignment with Schneider Electric Trust Charter and will:
• Build, maintain and continuously improve the Group’s data privacy and protection compliance at global level
• Support the Group on compliance with data privacy and protection rules in Asia
n MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Global and central activities:
• Support the development and implementation of data privacy and protection compliance steps, policies, guidelines, procedures, tools and templates;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection requirements, Schneider Electric BCR and company policies ;
• Lead or support transversal data privacy and protection activities and initiatives, e.g.:
o M&A and integrations
o Contracts
o Training & awareness
o Data localization and data transfers
o Knowledge base
Regional activities - Asia:
• Act as point of contact on Data Privacy & Protection matters in Asia;
• Perform legal watch and support government affairs activities and implementation of new laws;
• Fostering a data protection culture within the Company and conducting data protection trainings;
• Maintain and Manage a network of Privacy Contacts in the region;
• Roll out of the Group data privacy and protection policies and program;
• Support assessment of internal applications and products and services offerings, including in DPIA;
• Support the management of privacy incidents: process, incident response and investigation, data breach notification;
• Support country data privacy and compliance programs;
• Support response to law enforcement and regulators;
• Support response to IRR and claims;
• Organize audits or assist on audits organized by other teams.

Qualifications
n QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
§ Integrity mind-set
§ Experience 7+ in data protection compliance and strategy within a technology company, a law firm, a consultancy firm or a data protection authority in Asian countries (China, India, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam)
§ Experience in rolling out data protection programs and policy drafting
§ Experience in data breach management
§ Experience in audits, DPIAs and M&A transactions
§ Relevant education or external accreditation in the areas of law, data protection, security, audit, quality or risk management
§ Technical background or experience in dealing with IT and security matters
§ Skills: high-energy, positive, level of integrity & tenacity & team spirit. Technology driven. Good communication skills in multi-cultural environment. Good ability to network in various environments & matrix organization. Languages: fluent in English (written and spoken)
§ Ability to translate legal advice into actionable guidance for operational teams
§ Ability to travel (moderate)
