Job Summary: We are looking for a Lead Traffic Engineering Specialist to provide technical leadership within our dynamic team of traffic engineers. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in traffic operations and systems engineering to deploy advanced traffic control systems across the United States and worldwide. Your focus will be on meeting budgets, adhering to schedules, and most importantly, ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a systematic approach to the design, implementation, and support of traffic systems, including Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) and Adaptive Signal Control Technologies (ASCT).
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute the installation of sophisticated traffic control systems.
• Conduct traffic operational analyses and implement strategies to enhance traffic operations.
• Provide technical oversight for project teams, managing system requirements effectively.
• Guide project teams in defining and documenting system architecture and design.
• Oversee hardware/software integration planning and testing activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, program management, and customers.
• Provide pre-sales technical support and training to clients.
• Assist in engineering activities for proposals.
• Mentor and train junior systems engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Traffic Emphasis), Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree is preferred with three years of experience.
• Demonstrated field experience in traffic operations analysis is highly valued.
• Proficiency in the design, analysis, and installation of traffic control systems; familiarity with SynchroStudio is a plus.
• Understanding of traffic control devices (including Controllers and Cabinets) is desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using software tools for documentation and analysis.
• Analytical mindset capable of engineering problem-solving.
• Ability to thrive under project deadlines and budget constraints.
This position requires a commitment to safety and may involve pre-employment and random drug and/or ******* testing in line with Department of Transportation regulations.
