About Brodie Sports Group
Brodie Sports Group is more than a basketball league, it’s a community. As one of North America’s fastest-growing sports brands, we are redefining adult recreational basketball by delivering an elevated, professional-quality experience rooted in culture, competition, and community. Our mission is to make every league night the best night of the week for our athletes.
About The Role
The League Manager is the operational core of the Brodie League. You’re the person captains rely on, the reason game nights run seamlessly, and the standard every league night is held to. You anticipate problems before they surface, hold every game night to a premium standard, and treat every gym like it reflects the Brodie brand.
This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys being in the middle of live action, is deeply involved in league operations, and is looking to build a long-term career within a growing sports organization.
What You'll Be Doing
• Build and manage an airtight season schedule across all divisions, gyms, and time slots
• Own team placement, division balance, and captain onboarding from day one
• Own game nights end-to-end, leading league staff (referees, athlete experience specialists, and scorekeepers) to deliver a high-quality, well-run experience
• Manage standings, stats, and weekly results with speed and accuracy
• Execute playoffs and championship events players will actually remember
• Own registrations and league capacity, ensuring divisions are filled, balanced, and set up for success
• Manage gym relationships and ensure every venue reflects the Brodie standard
• Keep leadership informed with clear, consistent, and actionable updates
• Be a highly responsive, reliable point of contact for captains, ensuring a smooth and consistent league experience
What We Need From You
• 1+ years in operations, events, or a customer-facing role, retail operations is strongly preferred
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments - you can think on your feet and stay calm under pressure
• Availability for evenings and weekends based on the game schedule
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for sport and community building
• Experience working or volunteering in community sports organisations
• Must be able to operate as a self-employed individual and be responsible for own tax remittances and HST obligations
Nice To Have
• Background in sports, fitness, hospitality, or other customer-facing, high-energy environments
• Existing network within the local basketball or recreational sports community
• Experience playing in or leading a competitive recreational league or team
• Experience managing vendors, facilities, or external partners
