This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with a focus on growth in both its key areas as well as exploration into new and emerging markets. Due to the geographically dispersed locations of their facilities, offices and teams, this role can be based anywhere near a major airport, however ideally Brisbane, Auckland or Toowoomba.
The Learning and Development Manager will lead the strategic development, design, and implementation of a world class training program across the business in New Zealand and Australia.
The L & D Manager will work closely with Site Leadership in the development and implementation of a structured training program. They will then lead the organisation in continuous improvement and sustainability of the program and processes.
Key deliverables will include:
Build out from ground up approach L&D function and capability within the business.
Lead the tactical, hands-on work to develop out L & D across multiple sites in New Zealand and Australia.
Identify learning and development industry specific best practices and incorporate them into the training programs as appropriate.
Support safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring compliance with Site, Corporate, Quality and regulatory standards related to operating procedures.
Collaborate with other functions and teams to drive best practices and consistency of training across the organisation.
Establish relationships with leadership, subject matter experts, operations engineers, managers/supervisors, and staff to support training processes.
Develop and implement standardised training processes and tools that align with all regulatory/Corporate.
Implement adult learning methodologies and develop the team to deliver one on one mentoring and instruction, in the field training, small group training, virtual and formal stand-up instruction.
Collaborate with external resources to analyse the needs, design, develop, and implement an effective and sustainable training program.
Skills, experience and personal attributes:
Bachelor’s Degree with professional experience in learning and development and change management.
Previous proven documentation of developing and writing training programs.
The ability to lead and motivate learners by appealing to the characteristics of adult learners.
Ability to assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and coordinate instructional material both during development and in presentations.
Previous experience assessing performance and skillsets, to determine the appropriate strategy to achieve optimal results
Networking skills to help get all others to support the area's training activities, including the ability to encourage and improve the level of engagement within their team.
Presentation skills suitable to all types of training methods.
An ambitious work ethic that is a positive role model for all.
Computer literate with experience in core Microsoft office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI reporting.
Strong strategic capabilities coupled with superior business acumen and a customer focused approach.
A trustworthy, credible, and respected executive with a track record of setting and meeting commitments.
Change management experience, with a demonstrated track-record of successfully implementing change.
Ability to build strong positive working relationships, both internally and externally. A genuine team player.
A persistent, tenacious, and results oriented mind-set.
Problem-solving orientation and ability to think critically under pressure.
Regular travel through ANZ will be required in year one, with this reducing once L&D established. If you are not located in Brisbane, Auckland or Toowoomba a work from home scenario would be required. A market leading salary package and incentive will be offered for the successful candidate.
