The Opportunity

Position Title: Learning Experience Specialist
Reports To: Manager, Learning & Talent Development
Employment Type: Full-time Permanent
Schedule: 5 days on/2 days off, Monday to Friday

About the Department

The Learning & Development team fosters a culture of learning by championing training programs that enhance employee skills, leadership capabilities and organizational effectiveness by delivering innovative solutions to meet diverse needs from frontline training to leadership development.

What You’ll Do

Every role at the DI makes a difference. In this position, you will:

Design and develop learning content, curriculum, and resources to support effective delivery.
Leverages adult learning and instructional design best practices.
Create blended learning experiences using a mix of in person, virtual, and self paced formats.
Build learning materials that support diverse learning needs, styles, and delivery environments.
Apply adult learning principles and learning models to support structure, engagement, and evaluation.
Facilitation & Delivery

Facilitate live and virtual learning sessions for employees at all levels.
Co facilitate training sessions with trainers to support effective delivery and learner development.
Ensure learning environments are inclusive, interactive, and learner centered.
Adapt facilitation style to support different learner groups and content types.
Support consistent delivery by providing practical feedback and coaching on facilitation best practices to trainers and training support team members.
LMS Ownership & Learning Systems

Serve as the primary day to day administrator of the LMS, managing learning content, course setup, enrolment, completion tracking, reporting, and data accuracy.
Maintain training records, certifications, and completion tracking.
Troubleshoot basic user or system issues and support continuous platform improvements.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and internal teams to align learning needs, training objectives, and content priorities.
Collaborate on delivery methods and performance support tools aligned with learning priorities.
Support the application of instructional best practices and learning effectiveness.
Program Coordination & Evaluation

Manage timelines, logistics, and communications to ensure smooth program execution.
Gather feedback and analyze data to improve learning experiences and outcomes.
Support continuous improvement through iteration and learner focused design.
You’ll cultivate a thriving learning culture by delivering programs that spark curiosity, and build confidence, providing experiences that inspire.

Must-Have’s

Bachelors degree in education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Adult Education or related field. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Working knowledge of adult learning principles and common instructional approaches.
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience facilitating, co facilitating, or supporting the delivery of adult learning or training programs.
Demonstrated experience facilitating both in person and virtual learning.
Proficiency with LMS platforms and e learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, or equivalent).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months).
Nice to Have’s

Adult Education Certificate or Professional Certification (CTDP, ATD Master’s Designations, etc.).
Experience developing training materials for learners with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Experience developing and delivering operational, compliance, and role based training.
Experience with First Aid, NVCI, Trauma Informed Care, Naloxone, or other safety/wellness curricula.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills and comfort learning new platforms.
Experience working across interdisciplinary teams in community-oriented settings, with an emphasis on flexibility and cross-functional collaboration.
The Learning Experience Specialist supports the delivery of learning across the organization by ensuring training is executed consistently, effectively, and with a strong learner focus. This role is highly hands on and combines facilitation, cofacilitation with trainers, learning content development, and LMS administration to support day to day training delivery.

Working closely with trainers, subject matter experts, and the Learning & Development team, the Learning Experience Specialist helps ensure learning programs run smoothly, facilitators are well supported, and learners receive a consistent, high-quality training experience.
