The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Anthony’s Elementary School, a faith-based Catholic educational community, seeks a compassionate and skilled Learning Resource Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate must be certified in Orton-Gillingham literacy instruction and trained in multi-sensory math strategies, with a deep commitment to nurturing every child's academic and spiritual development.


Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized and small-group instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics using multi-sensory, evidence-based methods (e.g., Orton-Gillingham and structured math programs).

Assess students’ academic needs and learning profiles through informal and formal assessments.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans to support student learning.

Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and administrators about student progress and strategies.

Promote an inclusive and supportive environment rooted in Catholic values.

Attend IEP meetings and assist with documentation as needed.

Be an excellent communicator able to use a variety of conflict management strategies.

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.
