About the Role
Our long-standing relationships and deep knowledge of the insurance industry have seen us recognised as the premier Insurance Law & Litigation practice in Australia.
A fantastic opportunity to join our General Insurance practice. As Legal Assistant you will provide legal administrative services and support to the group, ensuring processes and systems are being followed.
Responsibilities
Perform administrative services: draft, type, edit, format and proofread letters, memos, briefs and court documents
Converting documents in line with the firm style guide including formatting and cross referencing
Compiling and formatting large documents and tracking changes
Prepare and collate briefs to Counsel
Prepare PowerPoint presentations and update the database
Monthly client billing and client reporting
Diary management and scheduling of meeting and teleconferences
Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders by phone using a very professional and personable manner
Data room creation and management
Scanning and maintaining complete electronic files in document management system (Filesite)
Email management and e-filing
About You
Successful applicants must bring previous legal administrative support experience gained in a law firm
A Certificate in Legal Studies is desired but not essential
A working knowledge of MS Office Suite is essential and an exposure to practice and document management systems is desired but not essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, spelling and grammar
Proven decision making and problem-solving ability
Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
An ability to influence and manage conflict with a diplomatic and consultative approach
Demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships
Strong team collaboration skills with an ability to lead by example
A passion for providing a high level of customer service
Strong attention to detail
The ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
A desire to learn and develop new skills
A flexible, friendly and approachable manner
