Forward Legal LLC is on the lookout for an associate to join our team.
But first, a little about us and how we practise the law. We believe good lawyering happens when people feel respected, supported, and heard. We also dabble in one of the most exciting and fast-evolving spaces: the internet, technology, and digital communications. In addition, our lawyers handle matters in litigation, corporate law, advisory work, and sometimes community law. What we are looking for
• An open mind when it comes to learning and using legal tech tools. (Don’t worry, we’ll show you the ropes if you're willing to learn; no coding experience needed for sure)
• Ability to work independently and remotely without someone peering over your shoulder, while knowing senior lawyers are always around to back you up.
• Cool and composed under pressure. Court deadlines and client demands are stressful enough without adding drama into the mix.
• Strong research and writing skills. If you can draft clearly and persuasively without hiding behind jargon, we want you.
• Ability to be concise, because not everything needs a 20-page memo.
• Confidence. Whether it's overt charisma, or the kind of quiet confidence that means standing up for your arguments and convictions.
• A willingness to do good and support the community that turns to us for legal help.
• A good personality and passion for life outside of law. We like well-rounded colleagues who bring fresh perspectives (and maybe stories from a hobby, sport, or side interest).
